Die 25-jährige Claude (Sylvie Testud), eine schizophrene Serienkillerin, die für den Tod von 27 Menschen verantwortlich ist, soll laut Richteranweisung auf ihre Schuldfähigkeit untersucht werden. Dr. Karl Freud (Michel Duchaussoy), der Leiter der Hochsicherheitsanstalt, in welcher Claude einsitzt, beauftragt den Psychiater Brennac (Lambert Wilson) damit, die einzelnen Persönlichkeiten herauszuarbeiten und somit den Grund, der Claude letztendlich zu dieser grausamen Mordserie getrieben hat, festzustellen. Brennac dringt in das mythologische 'Labyrinth von Knossos' ein, in dem sämtliche Protagonisten der Psyche Claudes umher irren, verliert sich in den Windungen, während er mehr und mehr die schrecklichen Taten seiner Patientin nacherlebt, und stösst auf das grauenvolle Motiv. Doch erst als Dr. Freud sich die Videoaufzeichnungen der Sitzungen anschaut, wird ihm klar, welches fürchterliche Geheimnis wirklich hinter der Mordserie steckt...

According to the judge's instructions, 25-year-old Claude (Sylvie Testud), a schizophrenic serial killer responsible for the deaths of 27 people, is to be examined for her guilt. Dr. Karl Freud (Michel Duchaussoy), the head of the high-security prison in which Claude is incarcerated, commissions the psychiatrist Brennac (Lambert Wilson) to work out the individual personalities and thus determine the reason that ultimately drove Claude to this gruesome series of murders. Brennac penetrates the mythological 'Labyrinth of Knossos', in which all the protagonists of Claude's psyche wander around, loses himself in the convolutions while he relives more and more the terrible deeds of his patient, and comes across the gruesome motif. But it is only when Dr. Freud watches the video recordings of the sessions that he realizes what a terrible secret is really behind the series of murders...
