In naher Zukunft. Godzilla kämpft gnadenlos gegen die Gothen, Kampfraumschiff unter der Führung von Captain Gordon (Don Frye), und wird unter einer dicken Eisdecke am Nordpol eingeschlossen. Einige Jahre später bricht großes Chaos auf der Erde aus, einer Heerschar von Monstern fällt über das ganze Land ein. Die Spezialeinheit um Shinichi und Kazunori scheint machtlos gegen diese Monster zu sein. Plötzlich taucht ein fremdes Raumschiff auf, welches die Moster in Luft auflöst. Die Außerirdischen haben keine guten Absichten und wollen die Erde ausbeuten, doch die Spezialeinheit stellt sich ihnen in den Weg. Schnell werden die Monster zurück auf die Erde gebeamt und die Zerstörung geht unaufhaltsam weiter. Nun gibt es nur noch eine Möglichkeit die Monster zu besiegen, Godzilla muss aus dem ewigen Eis befreit werden. Ein Spezialauftrag für Captain Gordon und die Gothen. Als die schlacht gegen die Aliens schon fast verloren scheint gelingt es Gordon Godzilla zu befreien, und schnell wird klar gestellt, dass es nur ein Monster auf der Erde geben kann. Es kommt zum Kampf auf Leben und Tod. Gut gegen Böse, Mensch gegen Alien, Monster gegen Godzilla...
Zum 50 Jahrestag von Godzilla haben sich die Japaner etwas ganz besonderes gegönnt: Kein geringerer als Ryuhei Kitamura (Versus, Azumi) führte Regie zur 28 und letzten Folge des Urmonsters der Kinoleinwand. Mit 'Godzilla - Final Wars' verabschiedet sich ein Mythos der Weltgeschichte.

In the near future. Godzilla fights mercilessly against the Goths, a combat spaceship led by Captain Gordon (Don Frye), and is trapped under a thick layer of ice at the North Pole. A few years later, great chaos breaks out on Earth, an army of monsters invades the whole country. The special unit around Shinichi and Kazunori seems powerless against these monsters. Suddenly, an alien spaceship appears, which dissolves the monsters into thin air. The aliens have no good intentions and want to exploit the Earth, but the special unit stands in their way. The monsters are quickly beamed back to Earth and the destruction continues inexorably. Now there is only one way to defeat the monsters, Godzilla must be freed from the eternal ice. A special assignment for Captain Gordon and the Goths. When the battle against the aliens seems almost lost, Gordon manages to free Godzilla, and it is quickly made clear that there can only be one monster on Earth. It comes to a fight to the death. Good vs. evil, human vs. alien, monster vs. Godzilla...
For the 50th anniversary of Godzilla, the Japanese have treated themselves to something very special: None other than Ryuhei Kitamura (Versus, Azumi) directed the 28th and final episode of the primal monster of the big screen. With 'Godzilla - Final Wars', a myth of world history says goodbye.
