Late Show

Radio presenter Hannes Engel (Thomas Gottschalk) gets the chance of a lifetime: Conrad Scheffer (Harald Schmidt), the program director of 'Tele C', who is constantly stressed by quarrels and ratings lows, wants to produce the late show for an audience of millions with him as a talk show host. Much to the displeasure of Hannes' partner Maria (Veronica Ferres), who has just thrown in her career as a TV series star in exasperation and has now eaten up the industry. Much to the delight of Scheffer's colleague and lover Carla (Jasmin Tabatabai), who finds in Engel a welcome victim of her intrigues. And much to the annoyance of financier Dr. August Beer (Otto Schenk), who is impatiently waiting for the bankruptcy of the station.
