Tierfänger Gilbert Noble (Chris Klein) findet in der bildhübschen Josephine Wingfield (Heather Graham) endlich seine langersehnte Traumfrau. Auf den ersten Blick eine klassische 'Boy Meets Girl' Liebesgeschichte, darf man sich bei 'Say It Isn't So - Ohne Worte' auf einen respektlosen Rundumschlag auf die ehernen Gesetze der 'Political Correctness' gefasst machen. Schließlich stammt der ebenso romantische wie skurrile Spaß aus der Werkstatt der berühmten Farrelly-Brüder, die für ihren treffsicheren Sinn für absurde Komik spätestens seit 'Verrückt nach Mary' (1998) bestens bekannt sind. Unter den finanziellen Fittichen der Farrellys gibt ihr langjähriger Mitarbeiter James B. Rogers ('American Pie 2') hier sein Spielfilmdebüt und erweist sich dabei als perfekter Ziehsohn des Brüderpaares. So lässt sich seine romantische Farce mit verspielt-perversem Touch von keinem Korsett des guten Geschmacks einengen. Animal catcher Gilbert Noble (Chris Klein) finally finds his long-awaited dream woman in the beautiful Josephine Wingfield (Heather Graham). The two become a passionate couple and even want to get married. Until it turns out that they are in fact brother and sister. At first glance a classic 'Boy Meets Girl' love story, 'Say It Isn't So - Without Words' is a disrespectful sweeping blow to the iron laws of 'Political Correctness'. After all, the fun, which is as romantic as it is bizarre, comes from the workshop of the famous Farrelly brothers, who have been well known for their unerring sense of absurd comedy since 'Crazy about Mary' (1998) at the latest. Under the financial wing of the Farrellys, their long-time collaborator James B. Rogers ('American Pie 2') makes his feature film debut here and proves to be the perfect foster son of the brothers. So his romantic farce with a playful, perverse touch cannot be restricted by any corset of good taste. Not only the beautiful Heather Graham and a surprisingly versatile Chris Klein guarantee bursts of laughter, but also various nude photos, a rubber cell, a lost engagement ring and, above all, the surprisingly receptive rectal opening of a cow.
