In 'Auf der anderen Seite des Bettes' geht es um die gestresste Ehefrau und Mutter Ariane, die weder von ihrem Mann, noch ihren Kindern genug Respekt erfährt. Also sieht sie nur einen Ausweg. Da ihr Mann beim Multi-Tasken kläglich versagt, muss ein Rollentausch her. Sie übernimmt seinen Job als Leiter einer Firma, er mutiert für ein Jahr lang zum Hausmann und darf auch ihre Schmuckkollektion verkaufen. Der Tausch wird ein voller Erfolg - zunächst. Der Film feierte in den französischen Kinos einen riesigen Erfolg beim Publikum. Am Startwochenende kamen allein 517.597 Zuschauer. Insgesamt verfolgten über 2 Millionen Franzosen, wie sich Dany Boon und Sophie Marceau auf der anderen Seite des Bettes schlagen. Sophie Marceau, die in dem 80er-Jahre-Kultfilm 'La Boum - Die Fete' (1980) als aufmüpfiger Teenager bekannt wurde, beweist hier ihr komödiantisches Talent als überlastete Mutter und perfekte Ehefrau.
