John (John C. Reilly) ist ein geschiedener Pechvogel mit nur wenigen Sozialkontakten. John (John C. Reilly) is a divorced unlucky man with only a few social contacts. At the insistence of his ex-wife and best friend Jamie (Catherine Kenner), he accompanies her and her fiancé Tim (Matt Walsh) to a party. To everyone's surprise, John actually manages to get to know someone: the attractive and lively Molly (Marisa Tomei). The chemistry between the two is immediately right and the relationship develops well, but Molly vehemently refuses to take John home, which soon makes him suspicious. 'Cyrus - My Friend, Her Son and I' (2010) was directed and directed by Jay and Mark Duplass, two visionary filmmakers made famous by the Sundance Film Festival favorite 'The Puffy Chair' and part of the film movement 'Mumblecore'.
