Mit 'Mademoiselle Populaire' erwartet Sie eine charmant-beschwingte Liebeskomödie im stylischen Look der 50er Jahre: Im Frühjahr 1958 will die hübsche Rose (Déborah François) mehr, als nur im Krämerladen ihres Vaters in der Normandie zu versauern. Sie träumt von der großen weiten Welt - oder zumindest vom Leben in der nächstgrößeren Stadt. Heimlich bewirbt sie sich bei Louis Echard (Romain Duris) für den Beruf, den sich jede Frau in den 50er Jahren wünscht: Sekretärin. Dafür ist sie zwar völlig unbegabt, bekommt die Stelle aber trotzdem, weil sie schneller tippen kann als Louis die Sätze zu Ende formuliert. Louis' sportlicher Ehrgeiz ist geweckt und er meldet Rose beim regionalen Schnellschreibwettbewerb an. Unter seiner strengen Aufsicht muss sie üben, üben, üben. Und während Rose sich in Louis verliebt, träumt er davon, seinen Schützling zur schnellsten Frau des Landes - ach was - der ganzen Welt zu machen! Oder gilt seine Leidenschaft auch schon längst nicht mehr dem Wettbewerb alleine?

Der französische Star Romain Duris ('Der Auftragslover', 'So ist Paris') überzeugt dabei als herrlich launischer Chef. An seiner Seite bezaubert Déborah François ('Das Mädchen, das die Seiten umblättert', 'C'est la vie') als ebenso hübsche wie selbstbewusste Provinzlerin und beweist erneut ihr komödiantisches Talent. Ergänzt wird das Team durch 'The Artist' Star Bérénice Bejo. Kamera führte Guillaume Schiffman ('The Artist', 'Gainsbourg'). In Retro-Optik der 50er Jahre mit viel Witz, feiner Ironie und liebevollem Ernst inszeniert, wird sich 'Mademoiselle Populaire' rekordverdächtig schnell ins Herz der Zuschauer schreiben, und das absolut fehlerfrei.

With 'Mademoiselle Populaire' you can expect a charmingly lively romantic comedy in the stylish look of the 50s: In the spring of 1958, the pretty Rose (Déborah François) wants more than just to sit in her father's grocer's shop in Normandy.
