1897, der Londoner Immobilienmakler Jonathan Harker (Murray Brown) reist nach Transylvanien, zum Schloß des Grafen Dracula. Der geheimnisvolle Kunde sucht einen Sitz in England, doch Harker ahnt nicht weshalb. Der Grund liegt über 400 Jahre zurück, als der grausame Walachenprinz Vlad Tepes (Dracula) von einem Feldzug heimkehrte und durch ein tragisches Schicksal seine über alles geliebte Braut verlor. Damals verschwor er sich mit den Mächten der Finsternis. Ein Foto von Lucy, der besten Freundin von Harkers Braut Mina, ließ Dracula die Wiedergeburt seiner Geliebten erkennen. Erneut entflammte mit unbändiger Macht die jahrhundertealte Liebe und Graf Drcula (Jack Palance) will Lucy unbedingt besitzen. Nichts kann ihn halten. Er überläßt Harker seinen drei Vampirbräuten im Schloß und reist sofort nach England. Schon bald sinkt die geliebte Lucy in Draculas Arme und er schlägt seine Zähne in ihren schönen Hals. Selbst die Bewachung durch Lucys Verlobten Arthur und den Vampirjäger Van Helsing (Nigel Davenport) kann sie nicht retten. Nachdem sie mehrere Nächte in den Armen des Fürsten der Dunkelheit verbrachte, stirbt sie an Blutarmut. Sie wird selbst zum Vampir und Dracula glaubt, dass ihm seine Liebe für die Ewigkeit gehört, doch Arthur und Van Helsing gehen gnadenlos auf Vampirjagd. Es ist ein Wettlauf mit der Zeit.

In 1897, the London real estate agent Jonathan Harker (Murray Brown) travels to Transylvania, to the castle of Count Dracula. The mysterious customer is looking for a seat in England, but Harker has no idea why. The reason lies over 400 years ago, when the cruel Wallachian prince Vlad Tepes (Dracula) returned home from a campaign and lost his beloved bride through a tragic fate. At that time, he conspired with the forces of darkness. A photo of Lucy, the best friend of Harker's bride Mina, made Dracula realize the reincarnation of his beloved. Centuries-old love has been ignited again with unbridled power and Count Drcula (Jack Palance) wants to possess Lucy at all costs. Nothing can hold him. He leaves Harker in the castle to his three vampire brides and immediately travels to England. Soon the beloved Lucy sinks into Dracula's arms and he sinks his teeth into her beautiful neck. Even the guarding by Lucy's fiancée Arthur and the vampire hunter Van Helsing (Nigel Davenport) can't save her. After spending several nights in the arms of the Prince of Darkness, she dies of anemia. She becomes a vampire herself and Dracula believes that his love belongs to him for eternity, but Arthur and Van Helsing go on a merciless vampire hunt. It's a race against time.
