Am Anfang war das Feuer: Adam (Simon Schwarz) und Eva (Marie Bäumer) entbrannten füreinander, als er sie aus einem lodernden Haus rettete. Jetzt sind sie vier Jahre verheiratet und aus dem brennenden Verlangen nacheinander ist ein lauwarmes Miteinander geworden. Das Traumpaar genügt sich nicht mehr. Eva möchte am liebsten ein Kind, nach Adams Auffassung aber haben quengelige Gören im Paradies seit jeher nichts verloren und bei der Vorstellung an 'Alete' und trautes Familienglück im gemütlichen Eigenheim kommen ihm eher Fluchtgedanken - kurz gesagt: Das Paradies ist in Gefahr. Noch dazu lauert die Versuchung überall. Zum einen ist da Betty (Anna Bertheau), das hübsche Kindermädchen von Adams Bruder Erik (Martin Brambach), das Adam glutvolle Blicke zuwirft. Und zum anderen ist da Olli (Pierre Besson), Evas Sandkastenfreund, der nach Jahren plötzlich wieder auf der Bildfläche erscheint und Eva eifrig umwirbt. Und ganz nebenbei gibt es auch noch Charly (Theresa Berlage), die schon lange auf ihre Chance bei Adam wartet. Als Adam von den verbotenen Früchten nascht und eine Affäre mit Betty eingeht, trennt Eva sich von ihm. Adam ist wieder frei, doch als Eva sich in Olli verliebt, regt sich bei Adam plötzlich brennende Eifersucht.

In the beginning there was fire: Adam (Simon Schwarz) and Eva (Marie Bäumer) burned for each other when he rescued them from a blazing house. Now they have been married for four years and the burning desire for each other has turned into a lukewarm togetherness. The dream couple is no longer enough for each other. Eve would like to have a child, but in Adam's opinion, whiny brats have always had no place in paradise and the idea of 'Alete' and intimate family happiness in the comfort of his own home rather brings to mind thoughts of escape - in short: paradise is in danger. On top of that, temptation lurks everywhere. On the one hand, there is Betty (Anna Bertheau), the pretty nanny of Adam's brother Erik (Martin Brambach), who gives Adam glowing looks. And on the other hand, there is Olli (Pierre Besson), Eva's sandbox friend, who suddenly reappears on the scene after years and eagerly woos Eva. And by the way, there is also Charly (Theresa Berlage), who has been waiting for her chance with Adam for a long time. When Adam nibbles on the forbidden fruit and enters into an affair with Betty, Eve breaks up with him. Adam is free again, but when Eva falls in love with Olli, Adam suddenly becomes jealous.
