Die Schwestern Paula (Claudelle Deckert) und Agneta Rondahl (Katja Weitzenböck) haben sich ihr Leben in der kleinen schwedischen Hafenstadt nach dem Tod ihrer Eltern eingerichtet. Agneta führt das familieneigene Hotel trotz ständiger finanzieller Engpässe weiter, und Paula lebt vom Fischfang. Beide lieben, was sie tun und kümmern sich gemeinsam um Gitta (Maria Ehrich), Agnetas kleine Tochter. Als unerwartet ein attraktives Kaufangebot für das gesamte Anwesen eingeht, ist Agneta nicht abgeneigt, über den Verkauf nachzudenken. Ihre Schwester Paula hingegen verkennt die wirtschaftliche Schieflage des Hotels und hofft auf eine positive Entwicklung. Außerdem schwebt sie momentan auf Wolke 7. Sie hat sich in einen geheimnisvollen Fremden verliebt, Mattias Niklasson (Patrik Fichte), der mit seiner Segelyacht im Hafen ankert. Dass Mattias allerdings der Kaufinteressent ist, ahnt sie nicht. Doch lange kann auch Paula ihre Augen nicht verschließen. Als die Bank ihnen den Kredit kündigt und mit Versteigerung droht, muss schweren Herzens eine Entscheidung getroffen werden. Die Ereignisse überschlagen sich, als Agneta ihrer Schwester den potenziellen Käufer vorstellt, und Paula das Gefühl nicht los wird, dass sie als Mittel zum Zweck benutzt wurde.

Sisters Paula (Claudelle Deckert) and Agneta Rondahl (Katja Weitzenböck) have set up their lives in the small Swedish port town after the death of their parents. Agneta continues to run the family-owned hotel despite constant financial bottlenecks, and Paula lives from fishing. Both love what they do and together take care of Gitta (Maria Ehrich), Agneta's little daughter. When an attractive purchase offer for the entire property is unexpectedly received, Agneta is not averse to thinking about selling. Her sister Paula, on the other hand, misjudges the economic difficulties of the hotel and hopes for a positive development. In addition, she is currently floating on cloud 7. She has fallen in love with a mysterious stranger, Mattias Niklasson (Patrik Fichte), who is anchored in the harbor with his sailing yacht. However, she has no idea that Mattias is the prospective buyer. But Paula can't close her eyes for long. When the bank terminates their loan and threatens to auction them, a decision has to be made with a heavy heart. Events come thick and fast when Agneta introduces the potential buyer to her sister, and Paula can't shake the feeling that she has been used as a means to an end.
