Sherlock Holmes und das Halsband des Todes

Sherlock Holmes (Christopher Lee) and Dr. Watson (Thorley Walters) are on the trail of the respected archaeologist Professor Moriarty (Hans Söhnker). The two investigators have suspected for some time that the professor is not quite as honorable as he pretends to be. Several years ago, during an expedition, the scientist had found a valuable necklace of Cleopatra in a pharaoh's tomb, which disappeared a short time later. Holmes' suspicion that the professor is involved in the theft is corroborated by the murder of a member of the Moriarty excavation: the archaeologist apparently maintains the best contacts with the underworld and seems to want to eliminate the confidants at the time.
