Sara Kimmick (Caitlyn Fletcher) steht vor einem Scherbenhaufen. Ihr Mann ist bei einem Unfall ums Leben gekommen, sie hat ihren Job verloren und ihr Konto ist leer. Es bleibt nichts anderes übrig, als zu ihrem etwas seltsamen Onkel Thomas Callan (Roberto Lombardi) in dessen unheimliches Haus zu ziehen um erst einmal über die Runden zu kommen. Kaum hat sie sich eingerichtet, geschehen merkwürdige, beunruhigende Dinge. Sara fühlt sich zunehmend bedroht, sie hat angsteinflößende Alpträume und Dinge passieren, die nicht passieren dürften. Ist es der Geist, der angeblich in dem Haus umgeht? Oder ist die Bedrohung viel realer, näher und greifbarer? Sara wird zunehmend paranoid und weiß nicht mehr, was sie mehr fürchten soll: die Toten - oder die Lebenden...

Sara Kimmick (Caitlyn Fletcher) is faced with a pile of shards. Her husband died in an accident, she lost her job and her bank account is empty. There is no choice but to move in with her somewhat strange uncle Thomas Callan (Roberto Lombardi) in his sinister house to make ends meet. As soon as she has settled in, strange, disturbing things happen. Sara feels increasingly threatened, she has scary nightmares and things happen that shouldn't happen. Is it the ghost that is supposedly haunting the house? Or is the threat much more real, closer, and more tangible? Sara becomes increasingly paranoid and no longer knows what to fear more: the dead - or the living...

'Paranormal Investigations 9 - Captivity', a nerve-wracking horror thriller - if you don't know if the threat is real or paranormal. The film by John Orrichio won the award in the category 'Best Screenplay' at the 2013 Macabre Faire Film Festival.
