Wladimir und Rosa & Hier und anderswo

'Vladimir and Rosa' (1971): Jean-Pierre Gorin as Vladimir Lenin and Jean-Luc Godard as Karl Rosa interview each other on a tennis court. Rosa walks up and down one half of the game with headphones and a directional microphone, Wladimir does the same with a cassette recorder under his arm. As with the 'Marx Brothers', their slapstick play turns out to be an act of cinematic revolt - a discourse on politics and cinema.

'Here and Elsewhere' (1976): 'Here' a French family sits in front of the TV. The images of the Palestinian revolution come to them from 'elsewhere'. Jean-Luc Godard associates both with an 'and'. And it is precisely this relationship that he explores in his documentary.
