John Kim (John Cho) ist ein junger, ambitionierter Anwalt in New York mit koreanischer Abstammung. Er bekommt einen Mordfall zugeteilt, bei dem er auf Manhattans koreanische Unterwelt 'K-Town' trifft. Hoch motiviert begibt er sich in dieses komplexe und verwirrende Ghetto des organisierten Verbrechens und lernt schnell, dass dieses Viertel seine ganz eigenen Gesetze und Moralvorstellungen hat. Auf der Suche nach Hinweisen gerät er immer tiefer und tiefer in den Sumpf des Verbrechens, so dass er sich schon bald nicht mehr sicher ist, welche Seite ihn mehr fasziniert: der linientreue Anwalt oder der korrupte Gangster...

Das besondere an seinem neuen Film 'West 32nd' ist neben den herausragend besetzten Darstellern (u.a. mit John Cho aus 'Harold & Kumar' und Grace Park aus 'Battlestar Galactica' und ihrer überzeugenden Performance) vor allem die ausgefallene Location, in der dieser Großstadt-Thriller spielt: in New Yorks zwielichtigem Koreatown. John Kim (John Cho) is a young, ambitious lawyer in New York with Korean descent. He is assigned a murder case in which he encounters Manhattan's Korean underworld 'K-Town'. Highly motivated, he enters this complex and confusing ghetto of organized crime and quickly learns that this neighborhood has its own laws and morals. In search of clues, he gets deeper and deeper into the swamp of crime, so that he is soon no longer sure which side fascinates him more: the lawyer loyal to the party line or the corrupt gangster...

American-Korean director Michael Kang is back with his second feature film 'West 32nd - K-Town' (2007) after the surprise hit and festival favourite 'The Motel' from 2005. The special thing about his new film 'West 32nd' is not only the outstanding cast (including John Cho from 'Harold & Kumar' and Grace Park from 'Battlestar Galactica' and her convincing performance), but above all the unusual location in which this big city thriller is set: in New York's dodgy Koreatown.
