Spuk unterm Riesenrad - Der Kinofilm

Due to a lightning strike on the ghost train of Tammi's deceased grandfather, three wooden spirits come to life and only cause chaos with their magical abilities. The teenagers Tammi, Umbo and Keks have their hands full saving the amusement park, and along the way also bring the broken family back together: Tammi (Elisabeth Bellé) is annoyed. Instead of going to Formentera, from where she has already promised her followers fantastic photos, she has to go somewhere in the pampas with her mother Simone (Sophie Lutz) to the funeral of her grandfather Jackel (Peter Kurth), who is a complete stranger to her, including getting to know Aunt Britta (Katja Preuß) and her children. In the totally uncool amusement park, there is not even cell phone reception and she can do little or nothing with cousin Umbo (Noèl Gabriel Kipp) and cousin Keks (Lale Andrä). But then three worn-out ghost train characters come to life during a thunderstorm: Witch (Anna Schudt), Giant (Moritz Führmann) and Rumpelstiltskin (David Bennent). Excellent allies for proper chaos, Tammi believes, to finally escape from this wasteland. Unfortunately, she didn't count on the family and the stubbornness of the ghosts. Suddenly everyone wants to take over the amusement park...

With 'Spuk unterm Riesenrad - Der Kinofilm' (2024), spooky entertainment fun is coming back to the big screen. The GDR television series of the same name, which was broadcast from 1979 onwards, immediately became an audience favourite at the time and is still as popular as ever today. This feature film, directed by Thomas Stuber, picks up on various elements of the original series and breathes new life into the cult series more than 40 years after its release. The story about Tammi, Keks and Umbo and the three ghost train characters that have come to life is wonderfully cast. Among others, Peter Kurth (Jackel), Anna Schudt (Witch), Moritz Führmann (Giant), David Bennent (Rumpelstiltskin), Lina Wendel (Lotti), Katja Preuß (Britta), Sophie Lutz (Simone) can be seen. The roles of the kids are played by Elisabeth Bellé (Tammi), Lale Andrä (Keks) and Noèl Gabriel Kipp (Umbo). The nationwide German theatrical release is on February 22, 2024.
