In 'Hlatikulu' ist einfach nichts los, meint Thabo (Litlhonolofatso Litlhakanyane). Und das ist für einen Nachwuchs-Detektiv natürlich blöd, denn so gibt es gar keine Fälle zu lösen. Um sein Heimatdorf im südlichen Afrika herum tobt das Leben, denn im Naturreservat streifen Löwen, Giraffen, Elefanten, Antilopen und auch ganze Nashorn-Herden umher. Das lockt Touristen aus aller Welt nach 'Hlatikulu', die mit Thabos Onkel, dem Ranger Vusi (Nhlakanipho Manqele) und mit Mrs. Agatha (Andrea Sawatzki), welche die Liebe nach 'Eswatini' brachte, auf Safari gehen. Doch die Wildtiere ziehen auch Wilderer an. Und so kommt Thabo zu seinem ersten richtigen Fall und muss auch noch gleichzeitig ein Nashorn-Waisenkind versorgen. Gut, dass er Mrs. Agathas Nichte Emma (Ava Skuratowski) dabei hat, die gerade in 'Eswatini' zu Besuch ist, und seinen Kumpel Sifiso (Kumkani Pilonti), den besten Fährtenleser der Welt. Gemeinsam kommen sie skrupellosen Nashornjägern auf die Spur, doch bringen sie sich dabei selbst in ziemliche Gefahr...

There is simply nothing going on in 'Hlatikulu', says Thabo (Litlhonolofatso Litlhakanyane). And that's stupid for a young detective, of course, because there are no cases to solve. But what does nothing actually mean? Life is raging around his home village in southern Africa, because lions, giraffes, elephants, antelopes and even entire herds of rhinoceros roam around the nature reserve. This attracts tourists from all over the world to 'Hlatikulu', who go on safari with Thabo's uncle, the ranger Vusi (Nhlakanipho Manqele) and with Mrs. Agatha (Andrea Sawatzki), who brought love to 'Eswatini'. But the wild animals also attract poachers. And so Thabo comes to his first real case and at the same time has to take care of a rhino orphan. It's a good thing that he has Mrs. Agatha's niece Emma (Ava Skuratowski), who is currently visiting 'Eswatini', and his buddy Sifiso (Kumkani Pilonti), the best tracker in the world. Together they get on the trail of unscrupulous rhino hunters, but they put themselves in quite a bit of danger in the process...
