Vor zehn Jahren bestand das fernsehbare Nachtprogramm weitgehend aus Wiederholungen. Bis zwei findige Redakteure des Bayerischen Rundfunks ein zündende Idee hatten: Ab Juni 1994 liefen allnächtlich die unglaublichsten Bilder aus dem Weltraum durch das Nachtprogramm des Bayerischen Rundfunks - ein atemberaubendes Spektakel und ein unerwarteter Publikumsrenner. 'Space Night', die Sendung im Nachtprogramm des Bayerischen Fernsehen, hat längst Kultstatus erreicht. Seit September 1996 gibt es die dazugehoerenden Klänge, produziert von DJ und Elektrolux-Labelmacher Alex Azary, der dem Nachtprogramm aus dem Weltall das passende klangliche Ambiente der Sendung besorgte. Die neun bis dato von ihm zusammengestellten 'Space Night' Compilations mit dubbigen Downtempo-Grooves haben längst eine ebenso erfolgreiche Entwicklung erlebt, wie das TV-Format selbst. Zur zehnten 'Space Night' DVD haben sich die Macher jetzt etwas ganz anderes, ganz Neues einfallen lassen.
