Seit Thierry Hamelin (Jacques Gamblin) in Rente ist und die Kinder aus dem Haus sind, hat er nur noch eine Obsession: tausende alte Familienfotos zu digitalisieren. Thierry ist von der Idee begeistert, seine Familie hingegen genervt. Alle haben ohnehin mit sich selbst genug zu tun. Tochter Karine (Agnès Hurstel) ist in ihrem Beruf als Anwältin ständig überlastet, Sohn Antoine (Pablo Pauly) dagegen hat es nie geschafft, aus seinen hochfliegenden Plänen als App-Entwickler einen echten Job zu machen, und Thierrys Frau, die Ärztin Claire (Pascale Arbillot), hat schon lange das Gefühl, dass aus ihrer Ehe die Luft raus ist. Als sie ihm eröffnet, dass sie die Scheidung will, fasst Thierry einen - seiner Meinung nach - genialen Plan. Er will mit ihnen noch einmal den Familienurlaub in Griechenland 1998 nachstellen und die Romantik von damals wieder aufleben lassen. Doch Familie Hamelin ist nicht mehr dieselbe wie damals, und so geht schief, was nur schief gehen kann. Claire reicht es und sie reist vorzeitig ab. Thierry unternimmt einen letzten kühnen Versuch, Claire zurückzugewinnen...
Als Drehbuchautor hat François Uzan sich u.a. mit der Streaming-Serie 'Lupin' einen Namen gemacht, nun startet er, ebenfalls nach eigenem Drehbuch, auch als Kinoregisseur durch: Mit 'Akropolis Bonjour - Monsier Thierry macht Urlaub' (2022) bringt er eine leichtfüßige Wohlfühlkomödie auf die große Leinwand. Neben Jacques Gamblin (aus 'Der Name der Leute') und Pascale Arbillot ('Madame Aurora und der Duft von Frühling') in den Hauptrollen spielen außerdem in dem großartigen Ensemble Agnès Hurstel ('Ménage à Trois - Zum Fremdgehen verführt'), Pablo Pauly ('Drei Tage und ein Leben') sowie der französische TV-Comedian Ludovik. Als chaotische Familie machen sie mit ihren Eskapaden Athen und Umgebung unsicher, denn Monsieur Thierry möchte - sehr zum Missfallen seiner Familie - den romantischen Familienurlaub von 1998 wiederaufleben lassen.

Since Thierry Hamelin (Jacques Gamblin) has retired and the children are out of the house, he has only one obsession: digitizing thousands of old family photos. Thierry is enthusiastic about the idea, but his family is annoyed. Everyone has enough to do with themselves anyway. Daughter Karine (Agnès Hurstel) is constantly overburdened in her profession as a lawyer, son Antoine (Pablo Pauly), on the other hand, has never managed to turn his high-flying plans as an app developer into a real job, and Thierry's wife, the doctor Claire (Pascale Arbillot), has long felt that her marriage has run out of steam. When she reveals to him that she wants a divorce, Thierry comes up with what he thinks is an ingenious plan. He wants to recreate the family holiday in Greece in 1998 with them and revive the romance of that time. But the Hamelin family is no longer the same as it was back then, and so everything that can go wrong goes wrong. Claire has had enough and leaves early. Thierry makes one last bold attempt to win Claire back...

In addition to Jacques Gamblin (from 'The Name of the People') and Pascale Arbillot ('Madame Aurora and the Scent of Spring') in the leading roles, Agnès Hurstel ('Ménage à Trois'), Pablo Pauly ('Three Days and a Life') and the French TV comedian Ludovik also play in the great ensemble. As a chaotic family, they make Athens and the surrounding area unsafe with their escapades, because Monsieur Thierry wants to revive the romantic family vacation of 1998 - much to the displeasure of his family.
