Sue Hartmann (Ruby M. Lichtenberg) ist zwölf und hochintelligent, aber auch Einzelgängerin, die in der Schule oft übersehen oder von der tussigen Mädchenclique gehänselt wird. In ihrer Freizeit flüchtet sie sich in Superheldencomics. Auch ihre Mutter Maria (Victoria Mayer) hat als ehrgeizige Wissenschaftlerin eher nur Arbeit im Kopf. Deshalb ist Sues engster Vertrauter ihr Vater Christoph (Luc Schiltz). Als Sue sich eines Tages im Labor ihrer Mutter befindet, kommt es plötzlich zu einer Explosion, niemand wird verletzt, doch Sue kommt mit einer geheimnisvollen Flüssigkeit in Kontakt. Schnell merkt sie, dass sie sich verändert und sich komplett unsichtbar machen kann. Die neue Superkraft ist zunächst ziemlich cool, erweist sich dann jedoch als richtig gefährlich, denn plötzlich sind eine Menge Leute hinter ihr und dem Serum her. Als dann noch ihre Mutter vor ihren Augen entführt wird, muss dringend ein Plan her. Gemeinsam mit der genialen Tüftlerin Kaya 'App' Wells (Anna Shirin Habedank) sowie ihrem neuen Mitschüler und coolen BMXer Tobi Grimm (Lui Eckhardt) macht sich Sue auf die Suche nach ihr. Dabei kommt ihnen auch Alfred zu Hilfe, ein altkluges Hologramm und geheimer Assistent ihrer Mutter. Wird es dem Trio gelingen, Sues Mutter zu befreien und die Entführer zur Strecke zu bringen?
Nach seinem Debütfilm 'Sputnik' (2013), für den Regisseur Markus Dietrich in der Kategorie 'Bester Kinderfilm' für den Deutschen Filmpreis nominiert war, darf sich das Publikum nun auf seinen neuen Kinospielfilm 'Invisible Sue - Plötzlich unsichtbar' (2018) freuen. Erzählt wird die aufregende Geschichte der 12-jährigen Protagonistin Sue, die gemeinsam mit ihrer neuen Tüftler-Freundin App und Tobi, dem coolen neuen Jungen in der Schule, in ein spannendes Abenteuer gerät. 'Invisible Sue' ist ein großer Spaß für Mädchen und Jungs und der erste Superheldinnenfilm 'Made in Germany'. Knackige Dialoge und rasante Actionszenen inklusive! Entstanden ist dieser Spielfilm als Teil der Initiative 'Der besondere Kinderfilm', einer Initiative, in der Kinderfilme im Mittelpunkt stehen, die nicht auf bekannten literarischen Vorlagen, sondern auf originären Stoffen beruhen. Neben den Nachwuchsdarstellern Ruby M. Lichtenberg als Sue, Anna Shirin Habedank als App und Lui Eckardt als Tobi standen für 'Invisible Sue' bekannte Gesichter wie Victoria Mayer, Tatja Seibt, Stephanie Stremler, Mickey Hardt, Roy Peter Link und Joyce Ilg vor der Kamera. Der Filme feierte beim renommierten Deutschen Kinder-Medien-Festival 'Goldener Spatz' seine Deutschlandpremiere, eine Produktion von 'ostlicht filmproduktion GmbH' in Ko-Produktion mit 'Amour Fou Sàrl Luxemburg', dem Mitteldeutschen Rundfunk, dem KiKA, dem Hessischen Rundfunk und dem Westdeutschen Rundfunk. Gefördert wurde die Kinokoproduktion vom Film-Fund Luxembourg, der MDM Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung, der BKM Beauftragten der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien, der MFG Medien- und Filmgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg, der Thüringer Staatskanzlei und dem DFFF Deutscher Filmförderfonds.

In her free time, she takes refuge in superhero comics. Her mother Maria (Victoria Mayer), as an ambitious scientist, also has only work on her mind. That's why Sue's closest confidant is her father Christoph (Luc Schiltz). One day, when Sue is in her mother's laboratory, there is suddenly an explosion, no one is injured, but Sue comes into contact with a mysterious liquid. She quickly realizes that she is changing and can make herself completely invisible. The new superpower is pretty cool at first, but then turns out to be really dangerous, because suddenly a lot of people are after it and the serum. When her mother is kidnapped in front of her eyes, a plan is urgently needed. Together with the ingenious tinkerer Kaya 'App' Wells (Anna Shirin Habedank) and her new classmate and cool BMXer Tobi Grimm (Lui Eckhardt), Sue sets out in search of her. They are also helped by Alfred, a precocious hologram and secret assistant to their mother. Will the trio succeed in freeing Sue's mother and hunting down the kidnappers?

It tells the exciting story of the 12-year-old protagonist Sue, who gets into an exciting adventure together with her new tinkerer friend App and Tobi, the cool new boy at school. 'Invisible Sue' is great fun for girls and boys and the first superheroine film 'Made in Germany'. Crisp dialogues and fast-paced action scenes included! This feature film was created as part of the initiative 'The Special Children's Film', an initiative that focuses on children's films that are not based on well-known literary originals, but on original material. In addition to the up-and-coming actors Ruby M. Lichtenberg as Sue, Anna Shirin Habedank as App and Lui Eckardt as Tobi, 'Invisible Sue' featured well-known faces such as Victoria Mayer, Tatja Seibt, Stephanie Stremler, Mickey Hardt, Roy Peter Link and Joyce Ilg. The film celebrated its German premiere at the renowned German Children's Media Festival 'Goldener Spatz', a production of 'ostlicht filmproduktion GmbH' in co-production with 'Amour Fou Sàrl Luxemburg', Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk, KiKA, Hessischer Rundfunk and Westdeutscher Rundfunk. The cinema co-production was funded by Film-Fund Luxembourg, MDM Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung, BKM Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, MFG Medien- und Filmgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg, the Thuringian State Chancellery and the DFFF German Film Fund.
