'Der Medicus' (2013) bekommt eine Fortsetzung. Am 25. Dezember 2025 startet der zweite Teil des Mittelalter-Epos 'Der Medicus 2' (2025) in den deutschen Kinos. Mit der gelungenen Verfilmung des historischen Bestsellers von Noah Gordon feierte der 'Der Medicus' 2013 große Erfolge. Nun folgt die lang erwartete Fortsetzung der Geschichte um den jungen Mediziner Rob Cole, gespielt von Tom Payne ('Der Medicus', 'The Walking Dead', 'Prodigal Son'). Regie führt erneut Philipp Stölzl ('Der Medicus', 'Goethe!', 'Schachnovelle'). Die Geschichte spielt im 11. 'Der Medicus 2' ist eine Wolf Bauer/Philipp Stölzl-Produktion und wird produziert von der 'Zeitsprung Pictures GmbH' und 'UFA Fiction' mit Payne als Executive-Producer. Weitere Co-Produzenten und Partner sind 'Constantin Film Produktion', 'Prime Video', 'ZDF' und 'Beta Cinema', die auch den Weltvertrieb übernehmen.
