Es sollte eine Traumreise auf einem Luxusschiff werden, doch es endete in einer Kreuzfahrt des Schreckens. Gut gelaunt geht Dr. Stephanie Tauber (Lindsay Wagner), Ärztin und Spezialistin für Infektionskrankheiten bei der US-Army, mit ihrer Tochter an Bord der 'Orion Star'. Die beiden freuen sich auf den gemeinsamen Urlaub. Aber ein geheimnisvoller Virus, dem ein Passagier nach dem anderen zum Opfer fällt, verwandelt den Luxusliner in ein Totenschiff. Schnell findet Stephanie heraus, dass die Krankheitssymptome denen des Ebola-Virus stark ähneln. Die US-Navy wird umgehend verständigt, doch die Zahlt der Toten steigt unaufhaltsam. Der Präsident der Vereinigten Staaten läßt über das Schiff Quarantäne verhängen, während die Navy bereits die Sprengung vorbereitet. Währenddessen gelingt es Stephanie, den Virus unter Kontrolle zu bringen. Als jedoch eine Gruppe von Meuterern das Schiff in ihre Gewalt bringt, ist die Katastrophe anscheinend nicht mehr aufzuhalten. Wenn es Stephanie nicht schafft, Kontakt mit der Regierung aufzunehmen, sind das Schiff und seine Passagiere verloren, denn ein U-Boot voll mit scharfen Torpedos nimmt schon Kurs auf die 'Orion Star'.

It was supposed to be a dream trip on a luxury ship, but it ended in a cruise of horror. In a good mood, Dr. Stephanie Tauber (Lindsay Wagner), a doctor and infectious disease specialist in the US Army, boards the 'Orion Star' with her daughter. The two are looking forward to their vacation together. But a mysterious virus, to which one passenger after the other falls victim, turns the luxury liner into a death ship. Stephanie quickly finds out that the symptoms of the disease are very similar to those of the Ebola virus. The US Navy is immediately informed, but the number of dead rises inexorably. The President of the United States has quarantined the ship while the Navy is already preparing to blow it up. Meanwhile, Stephanie manages to bring the virus under control. However, when a group of mutineers takes control of the ship, the catastrophe seems to be unstoppable. If Stephanie does not manage to make contact with the government, the ship and its passengers will be lost, because a submarine full of live torpedoes is already heading for the 'Orion Star'.
