Candy (Charlize Theron) und Lonnie (Billy Bob Thornton) hatten Sex. The only problem is that Candy is married to Roy (Patrick Swayze) and the self-proclaimed macho Lonnie is married to Darlene (Natasha Richardson). So far, the away game of the two has been a well-kept secret, but when the colorful quartet sets off on a joint trip to Reno, situations and revelations arise that no one could have foreseen. In the gambler's paradise of Reno, even fate plays poker every now and then, and so it comes as it must: Candy is pregnant! But her husband cannot have children.
