Auch in der 8. Staffel geht es in 'Deekelsen' und im Alltag von Landarzt Dr. Uli Teschner (Walter Plathe) alles andere als ruhig und friedlich zu. Olga Mattiesen (Antje Weisgerber) wird unverhofft als Geburtshelferin benötigt: Enkelin Kerstin und ihr Freund Uwe Kuss werden Eltern und die kleine Olga-Diana hat es plötzlich sehr eilig, auf die Welt zu kommen. Dass Uwe aber arbeitslos geworden ist und es Kerstin aus Scham verheimlicht, führt zu Konflikten bei dem jungen Paar. Nur Dr. Teschner vertraut er sich an. Und Bürgermeister Eckholm würde Uwe gerne zu seinem Nachfolger machen. Überraschend kehrt Dr. Teschners Sohn Wanja aus Australien nach Deekelsen zurück und zieht erst einmal in das Landarzthaus. Doch bald geraten Vater und Sohn aneinander. Dr. Lilli Teschner ärgert sich immer wieder über Schwester Karla, die sich oft krank meldet und damit in der Praxis ausfällt. Als Lilli und Uli dann aber bei einem Krankenbesuch feststellen, dass es Karla so gut geht, dass sie in Bohms Restaurant aushelfen kann, entlässt Lilli sie. Bei der Wahl ihrer Nachfolge sind sich die Teschners dann allerdings nicht einig. Als auch Paula Deekelsen verlässt, weil sie ihren Freund Wanja mit Elke Hinnerksens Halbschwester Floriane erwischt, herrscht Notstand in der Landarztpraxis: So stellt Lilli letztlich doch Schwester Jutta als Sprechstundenhilfe ein. Uli Teschner selbst erwartet eine große Überraschung: Er wird noch einmal Vater und bittet seine Frau, jetzt bei der Arbeit ein wenig kürzer zu treten. Dass Lilli allerdings nicht darauf achtet, sich ein wenig zu schonen, hat dramatische Folgen.

In the 8th season, 'Deekelsen' and the everyday life of country doctor Dr. Uli Teschner (Walter Plathe) are anything but quiet and peaceful. Olga Mattiesen (Antje Weisgerber) is unexpectedly needed as an obstetrician: granddaughter Kerstin and her boyfriend Uwe Kuss become parents and little Olga-Diana is suddenly in a hurry to come into the world. But the fact that Uwe has become unemployed and Kerstin hides it out of shame leads to conflicts in the young couple. He only confides in Dr. Teschner. And Mayor Eckholm would like to make Uwe his successor. Surprisingly, Dr. Teschner's son Wanja returns to Deekelsen from Australia and moves into the country doctor's house for the time being. But soon father and son clash. Dr. Lilli Teschner is always annoyed by Sister Karla, who often calls in sick and is therefore absent from the practice. But when Lilli and Uli find out during a visit to the sick that Karla is doing so well that she can help out in Bohm's restaurant, Lilli dismisses her. However, the Teschners do not agree on the choice of their successor. When Paula also leaves Deekelsen because she catches her boyfriend Wanja with Elke Hinnerksen's half-sister Floriane, there is a state of emergency in the country doctor's office: Lilli finally hires Sister Jutta as a receptionist. Uli Teschner himself is expecting a big surprise: He is going to be a father again and asks his wife to cut back a little on her work. However, the fact that Lilli does not pay attention to taking it easy has dramatic consequences.
