'Das Geheimnis des Königssees' ist ein spannungsgeladener Psychothriller mit Yvonne Catterfeld in ihrer ersten Filmhauptrolle: Als Angestellte eines Münchener Reisebüros soll die junge und hübsche Marla (Yvonne Catterfeld) eine Pauschalreise zum sagenumwobenen Königssee organisieren. Zur Seite steht ihr dabei Hotelier Maximilian Leitner (Hans Sigl), ein ebenso faszinierender wie mysteriöser Mann, der im Besitz des besten Hotels am Königssee ist. Obwohl Marla merkt, dass der galante Hotelier von einer geheimnisvollen Trauer umgeben ist, lässt sie sich mehr und mehr in seinen Bann ziehen. Erst als sie erfährt, dass Max noch immer um eine Frau namens Nora trauert, die vor 20 Jahren spurlos verschwunden ist, beendet sie schließlich die Liaison. Zurück in München macht Marla dann eine beunruhigende Entdeckung: Per Post erhält die junge Frau ein anonymes Schreiben, das ein altes Foto von Nora enthält. Schockiert muss sie feststellen, dass Max' einstige Geliebte ihre leibliche Mutter ist. Marla beschleicht ein furchtbarer Verdacht. Sie kehrt zurück, fest entschlossen, das Geheimnis des Königssees ein für alle Mal zu lüften.

'The Secret of Königssee' is a suspenseful psychological thriller with Yvonne Catterfeld in her first leading role in a film: As an employee of a Munich travel agency, the young and pretty Marla (Yvonne Catterfeld) is supposed to organize a package tour to the legendary Königssee. At her side is hotelier Maximilian Leitner (Hans Sigl), a man as fascinating as he is mysterious, who owns the best hotel on Lake Königssee. Although Marla notices that the gallant hotelier is surrounded by a mysterious grief, she lets herself be more and more captivated by him. Only when she learns that Max is still mourning a woman named Nora, who disappeared without a trace 20 years ago, does she finally end the liaison. Back in Munich, Marla makes a disturbing discovery: the young woman receives an anonymous letter in the mail that contains an old photo of Nora. She is shocked to discover that Max's former lover is her biological mother. Marla has a terrible suspicion. She returns, determined to unravel the mystery of Königssee once and for all.
