Drifter

30 years after 'Christiane F. - We Children from Bahnhof Zoo': Aileen F. (16), Angel S. (23) and Daniel W. (25) have fled into the anonymity of the city of Berlin. Their area of action is the area around Bahnhof Zoo. They have to procure the money for their drug addiction every day and find shelter in emergency shelters, with acquaintances or with regular clients. They have longings and wishes and a vague plan for their lives, but it remains a construction site, just like the world, in which they have to find their way anew all the time. A world of transitions and in-between spaces, of streets, niches and shops, where bodies count for little, friendships all the more...

Sebastian Heidinger's debut film 'Drifter' (2007) takes a clear, unadorned, but by no means sensationalist look at today's children from Bahnhof Zoo.
