Der Kinofilm 'Sound of Hope - Die Geschichte von Possum Trot' (2024) von Regisseur Joshua Weigel ist inspiriert von der wahren Geschichte von Donna und Reverend Martin und ihrer winzigen Kirche 'Bennett Chapel' in der Stadt 'Possum Trot' in den Wäldern von Osttexas. Zweiundzwanzig Familien schlossen sich zusammen und adoptierten mutig siebenundsiebzig der am schwierigsten zu vermittelnden Kinder aus dem örtlichen Pflegefamiliensystem. 76 Kinder wurden zwischen 1998 und 2000 adoptiert. Ein weiteres wurde im Jahr 2011 adoptiert. Die Martins haben 2 leibliche Kinder und haben in diesem Zeitraum 4 Kinder adoptiert. The feature film 'Sound of Hope - The Story of Possum Trot' (2024) by director Joshua Weigel is inspired by the true story of Donna and Reverend Martin and their tiny church 'Bennett Chapel' in the town of 'Possum Trot' in the forests of East Texas. Twenty-two families banded together and courageously adopted seventy-seven of the most difficult children to place from the local foster care system. 76 children were adopted between 1998 and 2000. Another was adopted in 2011. The Martins have 2 biological children and have adopted 4 children during this period.
