In 'Birds of Passage - Das grüne Gold der Wayuu' (2018) erzählen Ciro Guerra und Cristina Gallego in beeindruckenden und surrealen Bildern eine epische Geschichte, in der die Mythen der 'Wayuu' mit den harten Realitäten des Drogenhandels verwoben werden. Damit gelingt Guerra, der mit 'Der Schamane und die Schlange' (2015) für den 'Oscar' nominiert war, erneut ein kraftvolles und poetisches Meisterwerk. 'Birds of Passage' (2018) war der Eröffnungsfilm der 'Quinzaine des Réalisateurs' auf dem Cannes-Filmfestival 2018. 'Pájaros de verano', so der Originaltitel, wurde von Kolumbien für den 'Oscar' in der Kategorie 'Bester fremdsprachiger Film' eingereicht, den Kinostart in Deutschland erlebte 'Birds of Passage' am 4. In 'Birds of Passage' (2018), Ciro Guerra and Cristina Gallego tell an epic story in impressive and surreal images, in which the myths of the 'Wayuu' are interwoven with the harsh realities of drug trafficking. Guerra, who was nominated for an Oscar with 'The Shaman and the Serpent' (2015), has once again succeeded in creating a powerful and poetic masterpiece. 'Birds of Passage' (2018) was the opening film of the 'Quinzaine des Réalisateurs' at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. 'Pájaros de verano', the original title, was submitted by Colombia for the 'Oscar' in the category 'Best Foreign Language Film', and 'Birds of Passage' was released in Germany on 4 April 2019.
