Ludwigslust – Kulturhistorische Randnotizen (ca. 9 min., Farbe)
Der Film zeigt Ludwigslust, die »Perle Mecklenburgs«. In der Residenzstadt wollte und musste man repräsentieren und – hatte wenig Geld. So wurde der erste »Kunststoff« – Pappmaché – zu höchster Vollendung entwickelt und als Ersatz für Stuck, Schnitzerei, Kunstschmiedearbeiten und zu haltbaren Kopien für Werke der Bildhauerkunst benutzt.

It is the last working day of a fish seller from the market in Warnemünde. She is 72, at 15 she went fishing with her father, at 20 she brought fish to Rostock for the first time, in large baskets, first to the villas, and then she sat at the fish market every day.

The film shows Ludwigslust, the "Pearl of Mecklenburg". In the residential city, people wanted and had to represent and – had little money. Thus, the first "plastic" – papier-mâché – was developed to the highest perfection and used as a substitute for stucco, carving, artistic ironwork and durable copies for works of sculpture.
