Voyages-Voyages - Elbe

From its source in the Bohemian Giant Mountains to the delta near Cuxhaven, where the Strim joins the North Sea, the Elbe leads us through one of the most beautiful and varied river and cultural landscapes in Central Europe. 'Voyages-Voyages' climbs into the dramatically rugged Elbe Sandstone Mountains, paddles past castles and palaces to the floating theatre barge in front of the baroque backdrop of Dresden. Through the breathtaking river landscape of the middle Elbe near Dessau, the route continues to the 'village republic' of Rüterberg - here the Elbe was once the dividing line between the two German states. The gateway to the world, the port of Hamburg, with its fish market and Reeperbahn, is just as much a part of it as a trip on the luxury cruise ship 'Dresden' or a flight out on the only German 'Beaver', a vintage seaplane from the 60s.
