The Show must go on: Berlin 1990. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, there is a spirit of optimism in the formerly divided city. But for many, the fall of the Berlin Wall means uncertainty and fear of the future - even in the legendary East Berlin Palast, where the ensemble dances night after night in front of a half-empty auditorium. While the new artistic director Gerd Kolberg threatens to turn the revue theatre into a casino, ballet director Regina Feldmann (Jeanette Hain) first tries to re-establish the famous 'Kickline'. The siblings Luise and Lukas Jansen travel from the Baltic Sea to audition. Together with Karla Tanner from Munich, the young dance talents will move into a shared apartment in the east of the city. So close to their big dream, the newcomers have no idea of the impending closure of the famous house. At the same time, Regina is also facing the biggest challenge of her life in her private life - in a time of upheaval in which the palace has to prove and reinvent itself as the largest show stage in the world.
