Der professionelle Killer Holland (Charles Bronson) erfährt durch Hector Lomelin (José Ferrer) von dem Mord an ihrem gemeinsamen Freund George. George, ein politischer Gegner des Regimes seines Landes, wurde von einem gewissen Dr. Clement Moloch (Joseph Maher) im Auftrag der Staatsführung zu Tode gefoltert. Moloch ist in ganz Lateinamerika nur als 'Der Doktor' bekannt, gefürchtet und gehaßt. Die Zahl der Menschen, die der kaltblütige Folterarzt verstümmelt oder getötet hat,lässt sich nicht mehr überschauen. Holland beschließt, Moloch zu liquidieren. Hollands Plan ist es, die Schwester und engste Vertraute des Doktors zu entführen. Eine mörderische Verfolgungsjagd endet in einer angeblich stillgelegten Opalmine in den Bergen. Versteckt in den Höhlen der Mine lauern Bergarbeiter und Bauern, von denen viele die Zeichen und Narben entsetzlicher Folterungen tragen. Der wortkarge Einzelgänger, der in seinen Filmen niemals mehr sagte als unbedingt nötig war. 'Der Liquidator' (1984) von Regisseur J. Professional killer Holland (Charles Bronson) learns of the murder of their mutual friend George from Hector Lomelin (José Ferrer). George, a political opponent of his country's regime, was tortured to death by a certain Dr. Clement Moloch (Joseph Maher) on behalf of the state leadership. Moloch is known, feared and hated throughout Latin America only as 'The Doctor'. The number of people mutilated or killed by the cold-blooded torture doctor can no longer be calculated. The taciturn loner who never said more in his films than was absolutely necessary. 'The Liquidator' (1984) by director J. Lee Thompson lives up to its German title, works according to the rules of typical vigilante flicks and lets its title character resort to no less perfidious methods than his antagonist, which makes the film seem even more cynical and uncompromising in its core message than the titles of the 'Death Wish' series. Based on a novel by R. Lance Hill, Hill as David Lee Henry and John Crowther wrote the screenplay for this action classic, in which Bronson as former CIA professional killer Holland enters a Latin American dictatorship on behalf of a friend. His target: Clement Molloch, the notorious torture specialist who uses inhumane interrogation methods to elicit confessions from opponents of the regime and torture them to death in a cruel way.
