Für die erfahrene und engagierte Kommissarin Bella Block (Hannelore Hoger) ist ihr Job eine Berufung. Sie löst ihre Fälle mit Ehrgeiz und persönlichem Einsatz und schreckt dabei nicht vor Konfrontationen zurück. Dank ihres spröden Charmes und ihre Sturheit kommt sie jedem Verbrechen auf die Spur.
01. Reise nach China: Die Biologin Josephine Merkur (Nina Weniger) wird in dem Labor des Pharmaunternehmens Schilling durch eine Bombenexplosion getötet. Da sie an Tierversuchen beteiligt war, fällt der Verdacht sofort auf den, seit dem Anschlag verschwundenen, Wachmann und militanten Tierschützer Thomas Bärbaum (Sven Pippig). Doch der Fall wirft einige Ungereimtheiten auf und erst spät kommt Bella Block auf die richtige Spur.
02. Am Ende des Schweigens (Teil 1+2): Eigentlich ist Bella Block (Hannelore Hoger) mit ihrem Lebensgefährten Simon Abendroth (Rudolf Kowalski) zum Segeln an der Ostsee. Doch dann erfährt sie vom Mordfall Nicolette Richter und bricht sofort ihren Kurzurlaub ab. Die junge Mutter wurde nach einer Junggesellinnen-Party in ihrer Wohnung umgebracht. Von ihrem Freund Oliver Beck (Thomas Schmauser) und der gemeinsamen Tochter fehlt jede Spur. Alle Indizien sprechen gegen Beck, doch Bella zweifelt an seiner Schuld. Bei der Urteilsverkündung eines anderen Falls sticht die Ehefrau des Verurteilten Bella nieder. In einer Not-OP können die Ärzte Bellas Leben retten, doch sie hat durch den Angriff vorübergehend ihre Stimme verloren - jedoch nicht ihren Ehrgeiz. Spontan bricht sie ihre Behandlung ab und stürzt sich in die Ermittlungen.
03. Vorsehung: Eigentlich ist Bella Block als Kommissarin nicht mehr im Dienst. Doch ein alter Fall weckt wieder die Ermittlerin in ihr: Bella war vor 17 Jahren mit einem Familienmord, den nur die Tochter überlebte, beschäftigt. Schon damals war Holger Thom (Wotan Wilke Möhring) sehr eigenwillig und hat das wahre Motiv seiner brutalen Tat nie offenbart. Bella nimmt Thoms Leben unter die Lupe, da sie vermutet, dass die Überlebende von damals erneut in Gefahr ist.

01. Trip to China: The biologist Josephine Merkur (Nina Weniger) is killed by a bomb explosion in the laboratory of the pharmaceutical company Schilling. Since she was involved in animal experiments, suspicion immediately falls on the security guard and militant animal rights activist Thomas Bärbaum (Sven Pippig), who has disappeared since the attack. But the case raises some inconsistencies and Bella Block only gets on the right track late.
02. At the End of Silence (Part 1+2): Actually, Bella Block (Hannelore Hoger) is sailing on the Baltic Sea with her partner Simon Abendroth (Rudolf Kowalski). But then she learns about the Nicolette Richter murder case and immediately breaks off her short vacation. The young mother was killed after a bachelorette party in her apartment. There is no trace of her boyfriend Oliver Beck (Thomas Schmauser) and their daughter. All the evidence points against Beck, but Bella doubts his guilt. During the pronouncement of the verdict in another case, the wife of the convicted man stabs Bella to death. In an emergency operation, the doctors are able to save Bella's life, but she has temporarily lost her voice due to the attack - but not her ambition. She spontaneously breaks off her treatment and throws herself into the investigation.
03. Providence: Actually, Bella Block is no longer on duty as a commissioner. But an old case awakens the investigator in her again: Bella was busy with a family murder 17 years ago, which only her daughter survived. Even then, Holger Thom (Wotan Wilke Möhring) was very headstrong and never revealed the true motive of his brutal act. Bella takes a close look at Thom's life, as she suspects that the survivor from that time is in danger again.
