Zwischen awkwarden Wiedersehen, stillen Tagen und der Frage, wer sie eigentlich ohne ihre Karriere ist, versucht Maja langsam wieder klarzukommen...
'Low Expectations' (2026) erzählt mit trockenem Humor und viel Wärme von Überforderung, Identität und dem Gefühl, sich selbst irgendwann verloren zu haben. Ein ruhiger, bittersüßer Film über das Erwachsenwerden und darüber, dass Stillstand manchmal sehr heilsam sein kann. Eivind Landsvik ist ein norwegischer Autor und Regisseur. Sein Kurzfilm 'Tits' (2023) feierte Premiere im Hauptwettbewerb der Internationalen Filmfestspiele von Cannes und lief anschließend auf über hundert Festivals weltweit. 'Low Expectations' ist sein Langfilmdebüt. Getragen wird der Film von der norwegischen Musikerin 'Girl in Red' alias Marie Ulven, die hier ihr Schauspieldebüt gibt und Maja mit einer seltenen Mischung aus Verletzlichkeit, Coolness und trockenem Witz spielt.

But after a breakdown, she ends up back in her Norwegian hometown, lives with her mother and takes on a temporary job at a school. Instead of backstage parties, nightlife and social media hype, there is now small-town life and too much time to think. Between awkwarden reunions, quiet days and the question of who she actually is without her career, Maja slowly tries to come to terms again...
'Low Expectations' (2026) tells of overwhelm, identity and the feeling of having lost oneself at some point with dry humor and a lot of warmth. A quiet, bittersweet film about growing up and about the fact that stagnation can sometimes be very healing. Eivind Landsvik is a Norwegian writer and director. His short film 'Tits' (2023) premiered in the main competition of the Cannes International Film Festival and was subsequently screened at over a hundred festivals worldwide. 'Low Expectations' is his feature film debut. The film is carried by the Norwegian musician 'Girl in Red' alias Marie Ulven, who makes her acting debut here and plays Maja with a rare mixture of vulnerability, coolness and dry wit.
