Sunny Chopra (Vivek Oberoi) ist 'Gyaan Guru', der bekannte Seelendoktor einer Zeitschrift, der an seinem ersten Drehbuch schreibt, für niemand geringeren als Regiestar Karan Johar (Karan Johar). Doch die erfolgreiche Fassade täuscht: der zynische Sunny lebt zwar schon lange mit seiner Verlobten Jenny (Ayesha Takia) zusammen, drückt sich jedoch davor, sie zu heiraten. Ständig gestört durch seine nervigen Nachbarn Pandey (Saurabh Shukla) und Gungunani (Tiku Talsania), kommt er mit seinem Drehbuch nicht voran. Und da er seiner Chefin Parvati Kukkar (Juhi Chawla) ununterbrochen vorgaukelt, er sei krank, ist auch sein Job gefährdet. Sein Leben gerät schließlich vollends aus der Bahn, als er während eines Fernsehinterviews auf die südindische Leinwand-Schönheit Maya (Mahima Chaudhary) trifft, für die er schon als Teenager geschwärmt hat. Sunny ergreift die Gelegenheit und legt Maya sein Drehbuch vor, das direkt ihr Interesse weckt. Zur selben Zeit: Michael Burnett (Boman Irani) ist ein lebensbejahender Mitfünfziger, der mit seiner kindlichen Naivität oft auf die Nase fällt. Grade hat er seinen neuen Job als Pizza-Lieferant angenommen. Michael verfolgt das Pech, denn in der Regel verliert er seine Jobs schon nach zwei Tagen, doch diesmal nimmt er sich besonders fest vor seinen Job zu behalten. Sein erster Lieferauftrag führt ihn ausgerechnet zu dem für seine schlechte Zahlungsmoral bekannten Sunny Chopra, der hinter dem Rücken seiner Verlobten die Schönheit Maya trifft. Doch was Michael ihm liefert, ist weit mehr als nur eine Pizza...
Regisseur Sujoy Ghosh verpflichtete für die mitreißende Bollywood-Komödie 'Der Glücksguru' die Bollywood-Elite Indiens. But the successful façade is deceptive: the cynical Sunny has been living with his fiancée Jenny (Ayesha Takia) for a long time, but avoids marrying her. Constantly disturbed by his annoying neighbors Pandey (Saurabh Shukla) and Gungunani (Tiku Talsania), he doesn't make any progress with his screenplay.
