Das Land hatte ihnen einst der Großgrundbesitzer Pinyol überlassen, als Dank für seine Rettung im Spanischen Bürgerkrieg. Doch der junge Pinyol will vom Handschlag seines Großvaters nichts mehr wissen. Er will das Land zurück, um eine Photovoltaik-Anlage darauf zu errichten...
Auf einzigartige, vielstimmige, mit überbordender Energie und Momenten der Stille orchestrierte Weise erzählt Regisseurin Carla Simón in 'Alcarràs - Die letzte Ernte' (2022) von der letzten Ernte der Solés - so handfest, zärtlich und sinnlich, dass wir uns bald selbst als Mitglied der Familie wähnen. Der Großvater Rogelio gibt die Hofffnung nicht auf, den jungen Pinyol zum Einlenken zu bewegen. Vater Quimet stürzt sich in die Erntearbeit, als gäbe es doch noch ein Morgen. Dolors hält Haus und Familie mit fröhlicher Geduld zusammen, doch auch sie kann beherzt Grenzen ziehen. Die älteren Kinder Roger und Mariona, Quimets Schwestern Glòria und Nati und Schwager Cisco - alle helfen mit bei der Arbeit, inmitten des unbändigen Tobens der Kinder Iris, Teia, Pau und Pere. Jede und jeder in diesem Ensemble hat seine eigene Stimme und Geschichte. Die lärmende Unbeschwertheit des Familienfests, harte Arbeitstage vom Morgengrauen bis tief in die Nacht, der Kampf in der Genossenschaft gegen das Preisdiktat der Supermärkte, die Fröhlichkeit der gemeinsamen Ernte, das tiefe Wissen über Pflanzen und Boden, die Ungewissheit über das, was kommen mag: 'Alcarràs' ist ein grandios choreografierter Film voller Farben, Kontraste und Facetten, voller Leben und Liebe. Je näher das Ende dieses Sommers rückt, desto mehr nehmen die Spannungen in der Familie zu. Fast übersehen die Solés, dass sie einen Trumpf in Händen halten, den ihnen niemand wegnehmen kann.

Grandfather Rogelio does not give up the opening of the courtyard to persuade the young Pinyol to give in. Father Quimet throws himself into the harvest work as if there were still a tomorrow. Dolors keeps house and family together with cheerful patience, but she can also courageously draw boundaries. The older children Roger and Mariona, Quimet's sisters Glòria and Nati and brother-in-law Cisco - all help with the work, in the midst of the unbridled romp of the children Iris, Teia, Pau and Pere. Everyone in this ensemble has their own voice and story. The noisy lightheartedness of the family celebration, hard working days from dawn until late at night, the struggle in the cooperative against the price dictates of the supermarkets, the cheerfulness of the joint harvest, the deep knowledge of plants and soil, the uncertainty about what may come: 'Alcarràs' is a magnificently choreographed film full of colours, contrasts and facets, full of life and love.
