'Searching Eva' (2019), ein Film jenseits aller Konventionen, herausfordernd in der Thematik und visuell und ästhetisch faszinierend. Man taucht in Eva Collés Welten ein und kommt verändert wieder heraus. Zur Person: Pia Hellenthal ist Autorin und Regisseurin für fiktionale und dokumentarische Filme. 2013 diplomierte sie im Studium der medialen Künste an der Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln. Ihre Kurzfilme wurden auf internationalen Festivals wie Karlovy Vary, New York und Oberhausen gezeigt und erhielten Preise wie den Prix H.R. Giger 'Narcisse' für den besten Kurzfilm. Neben ihren eigenen Filmen, arbeitet Hellenthal für Publikationen wie 'Vice', wo ihre Arbeit für die 'Lovie Awards'' nominiert wurde. Eva, 25, an Italian living in Berlin, leads a public life, with all the consequences. At the age of 14, she gave herself a new name, declared privacy an outdated concept and published her first diary entry online. Since then, she has shared her life with the whole world down to the most intimate detail. She lives diverse identities: cat owner, poet, sex worker, bisexual, ex-junkie, feminist, anarchist, model, zodiac sign Virgo. She grew up on the Internet, where she turned her self-search into a public spectacle that raises the question of what 'a woman has to be exactly'. Their reality is virtual and life is 'something like an indie film', a subjective construction under its own direction. We jump from Berlin to her old home Italy, from Mexico to Athens, as if we were clicking through her Instagram profile. Eva walks at fashion shows in Paris, is massaged by 'sugar daddies' in middle-class hotels, takes drugs, blow-dries her friend's hair, plays with her cat.
