Zusammen mit seiner Tochter Ute (Tamara Rohloff) betreibt der verwitwete Pferdeliebhaber Gott lieb Gottlieb Stross (Hans Putz) seit 30 Jahren den 'Mooshof'. Seinen Betrieb, ein kleines Islandsgestüt im Nordschwarzwald, führt er nicht gerade nach wirtschaftlichen Gesichtspunkten. Deshalb sind Zahlungsschwierigkeiten vorprogrammiert. Eines Tages kommt Madeleine Duroc durch Zufall auf den Mooshof und bleibt dort, da ihr das unkonventionelle Leben auf dem Hof gefällt. Allerdings gerät das Gestüt gerade deshalb in immer größere Schwierigkeiten. Der Gerichtsvollzieher Otto Bödefeld geht bald ein und aus. Zunächst ungeliebt, wird er schon bald zum guten Geist des Hauses. Nach der Versteigerung des Hofes und dem plötzlichen Tod von Gottlieb Stross verwandeln Ute und Madeleine den Mooshof in ein Reiterhotel. Werden dadurch die Probleme für alle Zeiten gelöst?
Die Serie 'Fest im Sattel' wurde von 1987 bis 1989 auf dem Islandspferdegestüt Mönchhof in Moosbronn im nördlichen Schwarzwald gedreht. Regisseurin Christine Kabisch verstand es auf eindrucksvolle Weise die Rahmenhandlung mit faszinierenden Natur und Landschaftsaufnahmen zu kombinieren. Viele bekannte Stars aus Film und Fernsehen wie Hans Putz, Tamara Rohloff, Claudia Rieschel, Hans Clarin, Dietmar Schönherr und Thomas Fritsch konnten für die Hauptrollen verpflichtet werden. In der Rolle der Madeleine Duroc ist die berühmte französische Filmschauspielerin Giselle Pascal ('Die Gräfin von Lunegarde') zu bewundern.

Together with his daughter Ute (Tamara Rohloff), the widowed horse lover Gott lieb Gottlieb Stross (Hans Putz) has been running the 'Mooshof' for 30 years. He does not run his business, a small Icelandic stud farm in the northern Black Forest, exactly according to economic aspects. Therefore, payment difficulties are inevitable. One day, Madeleine Duroc comes to the Mooshof by chance and stays there, as she likes the unconventional life on the farm. However, the stud farm is getting into more and more trouble precisely because of this. The bailiff Otto Bödefeld soon goes in and out. Initially unloved, he soon becomes the good spirit of the house. After the auction of the farm and the sudden death of Gottlieb Stross, Ute and Madeleine transform the Mooshof into an equestrian hotel. Will this solve the problems for all time?
The series 'Fest im Sattel' was filmed from 1987 to 1989 at the Icelandic Horse Stud Mönchhof in Moosbronn in the northern Black Forest. Director Christine Kabisch knew how to combine the framework plot with fascinating nature and landscape shots in an impressive way. Many well-known stars from film and television such as Hans Putz, Tamara Rohloff, Claudia Rieschel, Hans Clarin, Dietmar Schönherr and Thomas Fritsch have been engaged for the leading roles. The role of Madeleine Duroc is played by the famous French film actress Giselle Pascal ('The Countess of Lunegarde').
