Die Geierwally

None of the boys from the Tyrolean village wants to be abseiled down to the vulture's nest in the rock face to get the young bird - a future threat to the herds - out of the nest. Then Wally, the daughter of the fender builder, courageously steps into action. As soon as she hangs in the wall and holds the animal in her arms, the old bird of prey attacks her. The courageous young woman threatens to fall - until a shot from Josef the bear, her secret love, saves her. Wally wants to thank him, but he mocks her as unfeminine and calls her "Geierwally". Shortly afterwards, Wally's father wants to marry her to the rich farmer Vinzenz.
