Der verwitwete Aufseher Porter Ricks (Brian Kelly) lebt mit seinen Söhnen Sandy (Luke Halpin) und Bud (Tommy Norden) in 'Coral Key Park' an der Küste Floridas. In der Gegend ist es immer gefährlich, Wilderer und Fallensteller halten sich dort auf. Bei den Ricks in der Bucht lebt Flipper, ein intelligenter Delphin, der drohende Gefahren spürt und versucht, die Ricks zu warnen. The widowed warden Porter Ricks (Brian Kelly) lives with his sons Sandy (Luke Halpin) and Bud (Tommy Norden) in 'Coral Key Park' on the coast of Florida. It is always dangerous in the area, poachers and trappers stay there. Living with the ricks in the bay is Flipper, an intelligent dolphin who senses impending danger and tries to warn the ricks. Flipper is Rick's helper in need for the family, often he is the only connection between the endangered sons and their father.
