Ein Hase auf Zeitreise: Felix, der niedliche Kuschelhase mit dem roten Schleifchen, macht an einem verregneten Sonntag mit der Familie einen Ausflug ins Museum. In einem Nebenraum entdeckt er die Zeitmaschine des kauzigen Professor Snork. Doch der Apparat funktioniert offensichtlich nicht einwandfrei: Anstatt eine Show über vergangene Zeiten zu zeigen, verwandelt das Gerät zwei Ausstellungsstücke des Museums in lebendige Wesen! Plötzlich sitzen das Baby-Mammut Wolli und die Wasserschildkröte Gertrude leibhaftig neben Felix in der Zeitmaschine. Damit beginnt ein großes und aufregendes Abenteuer. Nur einen Augenblick später werden sie durch einen gewaltigen Kurzschluss tatsächlich in die Vergangenheit katapultiert. Felix' Versuche, rechtzeitig den Knopf zum Ausschalten zu finden, scheitern. Und so landen Felix, Wolli und Gertrude in der Steinzeit. Wolli freut sich, weil er endlich wieder zu Hause ist. Auch Felix ist Feuer und Flamme - kurzerhand erfindet er das Feuer und vertreibt damit sogar gefährliche Säbelzahntiger. Nur Gertrude ist es in all dem Schnee und Eis zu kalt. Sie will unbedingt weiter reisen. Schließlich stranden die Zeitreisenden im alten Ägypten, wo sie der hochnäsigen Herrscherin Nofretete und ihrer freundlichen Dienerin Olabisi begegnen. Bevor die Zeitmaschine endlich repariert ist, muss Felix aber noch Abenteuer bei den Wikingern und den Indianern überstehen und sogar an einem Ritterturnier im Mittelalter teilnehmen.

A bunny on a journey through time: Felix, the cute cuddly bunny with the red bow, takes the family on a trip to the museum on a rainy Sunday. In an adjoining room, he discovers the time machine of the odd Professor Snork. But the device obviously doesn't work properly: instead of showing a show about times gone by, the device transforms two museum exhibits into living beings! Suddenly, the baby mammoth Wolli and the water turtle Gertrude are sitting in the flesh next to Felix in the time machine. This is the beginning of a great and exciting adventure. Only a moment later, they are actually catapulted into the past by a huge short circuit. Felix's attempts to find the button to switch off in time fail. And so Felix, Wolli and Gertrude end up in the Stone Age. Wolli is happy because he is finally back home. Felix is also on fire - without further ado he invents fire and even drives away dangerous saber-toothed tigers. Only Gertrude is too cold in all the snow and ice. She is determined to continue her journey. Finally, the time travelers are stranded in ancient Egypt, where they meet the snooty ruler Nefertiti and her friendly servant Olabisi. Before the time machine is finally repaired, Felix has to survive adventures with the Vikings and the Indians and even take part in a knights' tournament in the Middle Ages.
