Sasha (Filipp Avdeev) ist 20, produziert halbherzig seine eigene Musik, hat ansonsten aber keinen richtigen Plan für sein Leben. Gerade ist sein Kumpel Vanya vom Balkon gesprungen. "Wenn du springen willst, spring!", hat Petya (Aleksandr Kuznetsov) zuvor noch zu Vanya gesagt. Nach der Beerdigung gehen Petya, Sasha und seine Freundin Karina (Arina Shevtsova) erstmal in den Club, feiern. Dort lernen sie den Künstler Vasilisk (Savva Saveliev) kennen, der Sashas beschnittenen Schwanz fotografieren will. Bei sich zuhause führt Vasilisk den Dreien seine Kunst vor: Er löst alte Politiker-Büsten in Säure auf und präsentiert die deformierten Objekte als neue Skulpturen. Aus Langweile trinkt Pete einen Schluck der Säure und landet im Krankenhaus. Ein paar Tage später wird er mit einem dicken Pflaster über den Mund entlassen. Als er wieder zu sprechen beginnt, findet er endlich Worte für das Chaos um sich...
Der russischen Schauspieler Aleksandr Gorchilin, bekannt aus seiner Zusammenarbeit mit Kirill Serebrennikov (siehe 'Der die Zeichen liest' 2016 und 'Leto' 2018), hat mit 'Acid' (2018) ein abgründiges Porträt der Jugend im heutigen Russland gedreht. Den jungen Männern in seinem Film scheint es ökonomisch an nichts zu mangeln, emotional wirken sie jedoch in einer Gesellschaft ohne Väter und ernstzunehmende Identifikationsfiguren vollkommen verwahrlost und orientierungslos. Partys, Drogen und Sex funktionieren irgendwann nicht mehr als Fluchträume vor der Kommunikationslosigkeit und Leere der umgebenden Welt. Ein Not-Coming-of-Age-Film mit ätzender Wirkung. 'Acid' feierte im Panorama-Programm der Berlinale im Februar 2019 seine internationale Premiere und wurde beim 'goEast - Festival des mittel- und osteuropäischen Films' mit dem Hauptpreis, der 'Goldenen Lilie', ausgezeichnet. Am 8. August 2019 startete der Film bundesweit in ausgewählten Kinos.

"If you want to jump, jump!", Petya (Aleksandr Kuznetsov) has said to Vanya before. After the funeral, Petya, Sasha and his girlfriend Karina (Arina Shevtsova) first go to the club to celebrate. There they meet the artist Vasilisk (Savva Saveliev), who wants to photograph Sasha's clipped tail. At his home, Vasilisk demonstrates his art to the three: he dissolves old busts of politicians in acid and presents the deformed objects as new sculptures. Out of boredom, Pete takes a sip of the acid and ends up in the hospital. A few days later, he is discharged with a thick plaster over his mouth. When he begins to speak again, he finally finds words for the chaos around him...
The Russian actor Aleksandr Gorchilin, known for his collaboration with Kirill Serebrennikov (see 'He Reads the Signs' 2016 and 'Leto' 2018), has shot an abysmal portrait of youth in today's Russia with 'Acid' (2018). The young men in his film seem to lack nothing economically, but emotionally they seem completely neglected and disoriented in a society without fathers and serious identification figures. At some point, parties, drugs and sex no longer function as escape spaces from the lack of communication and emptiness of the surrounding world. A not-coming-of-age film with a corrosive effect. 'Acid' celebrated its international premiere in the Panorama programme of the Berlinale in February 2019 and was awarded the main prize, the 'Golden Lily', at the 'goEast - Festival of Central and Eastern European Film'. On August 8, 2019, the film was released in selected cinemas nationwide.
