Die 13-jährige Nelly Klabund (Flora Thiemann) ist stinksauer. Gegen ihren Willen soll sie die Sommerferien mit ihren Eltern in Rumänien verbringen. Gleich bei der Anreise läuft so einiges schief - das Flugzeug landet außerplanmäßig mitten in der Walachei und dann verrät der vermeintliche Reiseleiter Josef Holzinger (Hannes Höchsmann) Nelly aus Versehen ein Geheimnis: Familie Klabund soll schon bald ins rumänische Siebenbürgen ziehen, da Nellys Vater hier einen tollen neuen Job annehmen wird. Nelly ist geschockt! Wie konnten ihre Eltern sie nur so hintergehen? Ihr ganzes Leben soll sie aufgeben, ihre Freunde, die Schule, den Skatepark? Niemals! Nelly dreht durch, rennt weg und irrt verloren durch eine fremde Stadt mitten in Rumänien. Dabei läuft sie geradewegs in die Arme von zwei wirklich zwielichtigen Gestalten. Die beiden entpuppen sich als die fiesen Schurken Hokus (Marcel Costea) und Iancu (George Pistereanu), die Nelly entführen und in einem entlegenen Romadorf verstecken. Dort lernt Nelly eine ihr unbekannte Welt kennen und freundet sich mit dem geheimnisvollen Tibi (Hagi Lacatus) und dessen Schwester Roxana (Raisa Mihai) an. Als die beiden Nelly zur Flucht verhelfen, geht das Abenteuer aber erst richtig los. Es beginnt eine wilde Verfolgungsjagd durch Transsilvanien, denn die Entführer, die im Auftrag eines skrupellosen Unternehmers handeln, geben noch lange nicht auf...
Flora Li Thiemann (siehe auch 'Sputnik' und 'Glück') hat in 'Nellys Abenteuer die Hauptrolle der Nelly Klabund übernommen. Für die Rolle ihrer Mutter konnte Julia Richter (u.a. 'Sushi in Suhl' und 'Raju') gewonnen werden. Nellys Vater wird von Kai Lentrodt ('Keinohrhasen', 'Ladykracher') gespielt. Hannes Höchsmann ist als kauziger Reiseleiter zu sehen. Die Rolle des geheimnisvollen Jungen Tibi wird von Hagi L?c?tu? dargestellt, an seiner Seite zu sehen ist Raisa Mihai ('Ho Ho Ho') als seine Schwester Roxana. Entführt wird Nelly von Iancu, gespielt von George Pi?tereanu ('You're Ugly Too', 'Loverboy') und Marcel Costea als Hokus. In weiteren Rollen zu sehen sind Gustav Peter Wöhler ('Sams im Glück') und Rona Hartner ('Gadjo Dilo - Geliebter Fremder'). 'Nellys Abenteuer' feierte seine Weltpremiere beim Transilvania-International-Filmfestival. 'Nellys Abenteuer' ist eine Produktion von 'Indi Film' in Koproduktion mit 'Bastei Media' und 'Rommel Film' sowie dem 'SWR' (Debüt im Dritten und Familienprogramm) und dem 'SR', gefördert von der Filmförderung Baden-Württemberg 'MFG', der Mitteldeutschen Medienförderung 'MDM', dem Deutschen Filmförderfonds 'DFFF', der Filmförderungsanstalt 'FFA', dem Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg 'MBB' und der 'BKM' Drehbuchförderung.

13-year-old Nelly Klabund (Flora Thiemann) is. Against her will, she is supposed to spend the summer holidays with her parents in Romania. Right on arrival, a lot goes wrong - the plane lands unscheduled in the middle of Wallachia and then the supposed tour guide Josef Holzinger (Hannes Höchsmann) accidentally reveals a secret to Nelly: The Klabund family is soon to move to Romanian Transylvania, as Nelly's father will take a great new job here. Nelly is shocked! How could her parents betray her like that? She should give up her whole life, her friends, school, the skate park? Never! Nelly goes crazy, runs away and wanders lost through a strange city in the middle of Romania. In the process, she runs straight into the arms of two really shady characters. The two turn out to be the nasty villains Hokus (Marcel Costea) and Iancu (George Pistereanu), who kidnap Nelly and hide her in a remote Roma village. There, Nelly gets to know a world unknown to her and befriends the mysterious Tibi (Hagi Lacatus) and his sister Roxana (Raisa Mihai). When the two help Nelly escape, however, the adventure really begins. A wild chase through Transylvania begins, because the kidnappers, who act on behalf of an unscrupulous entrepreneur, are far from giving up...

'Nelly's Adventures' celebrated its world premiere at the Transilvania International Film Festival.
