Mitten auf der Öresundbrücke zwischen Schweden und Dänemark liegt die Leiche einer Frau. Das Makabere daran: Eine Hälfte des Körpers gehört zu einer schwedischen Politikerin, die andere zu einer dänischen Prostituierten. Ein dänisch-schwedisches Ermittlerduo soll das Verbrechen aufklären. Martin (Kim Bodnia), ein entspannter Familienmensch, und Single-Frau Saga (Sofia Helin), die eher auf harte Fakten setzt als auf Empathie. Doch der Doppelmord ist erst der Anfang einer Reihe unvorstellbarer Gewaltakte. Der Täter, ein moralisch motivierter Terrorist, will auf gesellschaftliche Missstände aufmerksam machen und dazu ist ihm jedes Mittel recht. Eine dramatische Verfolgungsjagd durch das gesamte Gebiet rund um den Öresund beginnt und er ist der Polizei immer einen Schritt voraus. Wird es Martin und Saga dennoch gelingen, seinen perfiden Plan zu durchkreuzen? Eines ist sicher - am Ende wird nichts mehr so sein, wie es war.
In the middle of the Öresund Bridge between Sweden and Denmark lies the body of a woman. The macabre thing about it is that one half of the body belongs to a Swedish politician, the other to a Danish prostitute. A Danish-Swedish investigator duo is supposed to solve the crime. Martin (Kim Bodnia), a relaxed family man, and single woman Saga (Sofia Helin), who relies on hard facts rather than empathy. But the double murder is only the beginning of a series of unimaginable acts of violence. The perpetrator, a morally motivated terrorist, wants to draw attention to social grievances and to do so he is willing to use any means. A dramatic chase through the entire area around the Öresund begins and he is always one step ahead of the police. Will Martin and Saga still succeed in thwarting his perfidious plan? One thing is certain - in the end, nothing will be the same as it was.
