Ein Gymnasialdirektor in der Blüte seiner Jahre erliegt der Theaterleidenschaft seines Hausmädchens und dem massiven Drängen des geschäftstüchtigen Theaterdirektors Striese. Er überlässt ihm seine literarische Jugendsünde, ein Drama im Gewande einer antiken Römertragödie zur Aufführung. Doch das Stück fällt durch, die Gattin kommt zurück, ein ungebetener Besucher macht sich breit und Striese kämpft wie ein Löwe um seine Existenz und die Ehrenrettung des Theaters...

A high school principal in the prime of his years succumbs to his housemaid's passion for theatre and the massive urging of the enterprising theatre director Striese.
