'Der Exorzist - Martyrs' (2027) ist ein US-amerikanischer Horrorfilm mit übernatürlichen Elementen, geschrieben und inszeniert von Mike Flanagan. Der Film ist Teil der Exorzist-Reihe und der inzwischen siebte Teil. Jason Blum produzierte den Film über seine Produktionsfirma 'Blumhouse Productions', zusammen mit 'Atomic Monster', David Robinson über seine Produktionsfirma 'Morgan Creek Entertainment' und Flanagan über seine Produktionsfirma 'Red Room Pictures'. In den Hauptrollen sind Scarlett Johansson, Diane Lane, Jacobi Jupe, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Laurence Fishburne, Sasha Calle, John Leguizamo, Hamish Linklater, Carl Lumbly, John Gallagher Jr., Benjamin Pajak und Carla Gugino zu sehen. Vor der Ankündigung dieses Projekts war eine Fortsetzung von 'Der Exorzist - Believer' (2023) mit dem Titel 'Der Exorzist - Deceiver' geplant. David Gordon Green sollte ursprünglich Regie führen, verließ das Projekt jedoch nach dem Misserfolg von 'Believer' bei Kritikern und an den Kinokassen. Im Mai 2024 wurden 'Deceiver' und seine Fortsetzung offiziell eingestellt, als der neue Film angekündigt wurde. 'Der Exorzist - Martyrs' soll am 12. März 2027 über 'Universal Pictures' weltweit in den Kinos veröffentlicht werden.

'The Exorcist' (2027) is an American horror film with supernatural elements, written and directed by Mike Flanagan. The film is part of the Exorcist series and is now the seventh part. Jason Blum produced the film through his production company Blumhouse Productions, along with Atomic Monster, David Robinson through his production company Morgan Creek Entertainment, and Flanagan through his production company Red Room Pictures. It stars Scarlett Johansson, Diane Lane, Jacobi Jupe, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Laurence Fishburne, Sasha Calle, John Leguizamo, Hamish Linklater, Carl Lumbly, John Gallagher Jr., Benjamin Pajak and Carla Gugino. Before the announcement of this project, a sequel to 'The Exorcist - Believer' (2023) titled 'The Exorcist - Deceiver' was planned. David Gordon Green was originally supposed to direct, but left the project after the failure of 'Believer' with critics and at the box office. In May 2024, 'Deceiver' and its sequel were officially cancelled when the new film was announced. 'The Exorcist' is scheduled to be released in cinemas worldwide on March 12, 2027 via 'Universal Pictures'.
