Sie lebt im Palast in der Smaragdstadt und schwelgt in den Annehmlichkeiten von Ruhm und Ansehen. Auf Anweisung von Madame Akaber (Oscar-Preisträgerin Michelle Yeoh) dient Glinda als schillernde Trostspenderin, die den Bewohnern von Oz versichern soll, dass unter der Herrschaft des Zauberers alles zum Besten steht. Zwar wächst Glindas Ruhm immer weiter und die spektakuläre Hochzeit mit Prinz Fiyero (Olivier-Preisträger und Emmy- und SAG-Kandidat Jonathan Bailey) steht unmittelbar bevor, doch noch immer leidet sie unter der Trennung von Elphaba. Elphaba, now demonized as the Wicked Witch of the West, lives in exile in the woods, where she continues her fight for the freedom of the animals forced to remain silent. Although she tries to bring about a reconciliation between Elphaba and the wizard, the two friends only distance themselves further from each other.
