Jang Hae-ju (Sin Min-ah) ist blind. Aus Versehen setzt sie sich in das Auto von Ku Dong-geon (Ryoo Seung-beom), da sie ihn für einen Taxifahrer hält. Fortan fährt Dong-geon die blinde Hae-ju immer zur Arbeit und nach Hause. Die beiden freunden sich an und eine Beziehung zwischen den zwei zeichnet sich ab. Dong-geon ist nun für Hae-ju wie ein neues Paar Augen, da er ihr eine komplett neue und schöne Welt zeigt. Eines Tages ist es allerdings so weit. Hae-ju hat endlich einen Spender gefunden und unterzieht sich einer Augenoperation. Dong-geon ist jedoch nicht wirklich erfeut darüber, da er nicht der gut aussehende Mann ist, den er seiner Freundin beschrieben hat. Nach der Opreration macht Hae-ju die Bekanntschaft mit dem Polizisten Tak Jun-ha (Kim Kang-woo), den sie fälschlicherweise zuerst für ihren Freund hält, da er genau so aussieht wie Dong-geon sich beschrieben hat. Dong-geon muss nun mit ansehen wie Jun-ha sich immer mehr an seine Freundin ranschmeißt, doch vielleicht ist es das Beste wenn Hae-ju mit dem gut aussehenden Jun-ha glücklich wird. Was sollte sie mit jemand so hässlichem wie Dong-geon anfangen...
'Die Schöne und das Biest' ist eine der bekanntesten Liebesgeschichte aller Zeiten. Koreas Starregisseur Lee Gye-byeok hat es geschafft, diese Story in 'The Beast & the Beauty' (2005) in einem neuen Gewand zu präsentieren, das mit Witz und Charme zu überzeugen weiß. Ryoo Seung-beom spielt das Biest so charmant, dass man mit ihm mitfiebert, seine Herzensdame zu gewinnen.

Jang Hae-ju (Sin Min-ah) is blind. She accidentally gets into the car of Ku Dong-geon (Ryoo Seung-beom), as she thinks he is a taxi driver. From then on, Dong-geon always drives the blind Hae-ju to work and home. The two become friends and a relationship between the two emerges. Dong-geon is now like a new pair of eyes for Hae-ju, as he shows her a completely new and beautiful world. One day, however, the time has come. Hae-ju has finally found a donor and is undergoing eye surgery. Dong-geon isn't really happy about it, though, since he's not the handsome man he described to his girlfriend. After the operation, Hae-ju makes the acquaintance of policeman Tak Jun-ha (Kim Kang-woo), whom she mistakenly thinks is her boyfriend at first, because he looks exactly like Dong-geon described himself. Dong-geon now has to watch as Jun-ha throws himself more and more at his girlfriend, but maybe it's best if Hae-ju is happy with the good-looking Jun-ha. What was she supposed to do with someone as ugly as Dong-geon...
'Beauty and the Beast' is one of the most famous love stories of all time. Korea's star director Lee Gye-byeok has managed to present this story in 'The Beast & the Beauty' (2005) in a new guise, which knows how to convince with wit and charm. Ryoo Seung-beom plays the beast so charmingly that you cheer for him to win his lady of the heart.
