To do justice to such an art berserker, who was active for 75 years of his almost 90-year life, in a film portrait makes it unavoidable to limit himself to a part of his work. At the center of the film are the contradictory man with the whole range of his passions and his vision of the creation of the world. How did the exceptional artist create the miracle in the Sistine Chapel, how did he make the most famous sculpture in art history, the David, whom millions of admirers crown 'Mister Universe' year after year? The titanic working process in the Chapel of the Popes and the story of the origin of the marble hero form the common thread of the film. This is followed by alternating scenes and settings that give the viewer surprising insights not only into the life and suffering of Michelangelo, but also into his time, the Renaissance era.
