Die beiden Kumpels Mike O'Hara (Daniel Stern) und Jimmy Flaherty (Dan Aykroyd) sind Basketballfans mit Leib und Seele. Ihr Enthusiasmus für das Team der 'Boston Celtics' scheint keine Grenzen zu kennen - umso mehr sind sie über den Spielgleichstand zwischen ihren Favoriten und den Utah Jazz verärgert. Als sie eines Abends Lewis Scott (Damon Wayans), den arroganten Star der gegnerischen Mannschaft, in einer Bar antreffen, geben sich Mike und Jimmy als Jazz-Fans aus und laden den Spieler auf etliche Drinks ein. Natürlich nicht ohne entsprechende Nebenwirkungen: Keiner der beiden kann sich am nächsten Morgen an das vergangene Saufgelage erinnern und sie sind völlig geschockt, als sie den langbeinigen Basketballprofi inmitten ihres Wohnzimmer entdecken - an einen Stuhl gefesselt! Doch die Idee, dass der Top- Spieler für das entscheidende Match 'unschädlich' gemacht wurde, ist nicht ganz ohne.
The two buddies Mike O'Hara (Daniel Stern) and Jimmy Flaherty (Dan Aykroyd) are basketball fans with heart and soul. Their enthusiasm for the team of the 'Boston Celtics' seems to know no bounds - all the more they are annoyed about the tie between their favorites and the Utah Jazz. When they meet Lewis Scott (Damon Wayans), the arrogant star of the opposing team, in a bar one evening, Mike and Jimmy pretend to be jazz fans and invite the player for several drinks. Of course, not without corresponding side effects: Neither of the two can remember the past drinking bout the next morning and they are completely shocked when they discover the long-legged basketball professional in the middle of their living room - tied to a chair! But the idea that the top player was 'rendered harmless' for the decisive match is not without its merits.
