Caroline Wilson (Cindy Busby) ist jung, begabt und ziemlich ambitioniert - als Starköchin hat sie zusammen mit ihrer Mutter aus dem Restaurant 'Laboratoire' innerhalb eines Jahres einen der angesagtesten kulinarischen Treffpunkte in New York gemacht. Daher hat sie eigentlich auch gar nicht die Absicht, nach dem Tod ihrer Tante Doreen ausgerechnet deren gemütliches Strandcafé an der australischen Ostküste zu übernehmen. Da sie sich nun aber nun mal um die leidigen Erbschaftsangelegenheiten kümmern muss, reist sie widerstrebend in das kleine Städtchen 'Lemon Myrtle Cove', um dort den Verkauf in die Wege zu leiten. Die bunte Belegschaft des Cafés sieht dem Besitzerwechsel jedoch mit gemischten Gefühlen entgegen und setzt alles daran, Carolines Verkaufsbemühungen mit kleinen Tricks zu untergraben - allen voran die resolute Chefin Marla (Marita Wilcox) und der unverschämt gut aussehende Koch Simon Cook (Tim Ross), der sich nicht nur als Vermieter von Carolines Pension entpuppt, sondern auch als veritabler Tausendsassa in handwerklichen Dingen. Je länger Caroline in 'Lemon Myrtle Cove' festsitzt, umso mehr verfällt sie dem rauen, aber herzlichen Charme der Einwohner und dem unwiderstehlichen Lächeln von Cook. Bald kommen die beiden sich näher und Caroline hegt ernste Zweifel an ihrem Vorhaben, doch als völlig überraschend ihr Ex-Verlobter in der Stadt auftaucht und Caroline kurz darauf ein Gespräch belauscht, das Cooks Zuneigung zu ihr in einem völlig neuen Licht erscheinen lässt, überschlagen sich die Ereignisse. Gibt es noch eine Chance für das Café - und für die Liebe?

Caroline Wilson (Cindy Busby) is young, talented and quite ambitious - as a celebrity chef, she and her mother have turned the restaurant 'Laboratoire' into one of the hottest culinary meeting places in New York within a year. That's why she doesn't really intend to take over her aunt Doreen's cozy beach café on Australia's east coast after her death. But since she now has to take care of the annoying inheritance matters, she reluctantly travels to the small town of 'Lemon Myrtle Cove' to initiate the sale there. However, the café's colorful staff has mixed feelings about the change of ownership and does everything they can to undermine Caroline's sales efforts with little tricks - first and foremost the resolute boss Marla (Marita Wilcox) and the outrageously good-looking chef Simon Cook (Tim Ross), who turns out to be not only the landlord of Caroline's guesthouse, but also a veritable jack-of-all-trades in handicrafts. The longer Caroline is stuck in 'Lemon Myrtle Cove', the more she falls for the rough but warm charm of the inhabitants and the irresistible smile of Cook. Soon the two become closer and Caroline has serious doubts about her plan, but when her ex-fiancé appears in town completely unexpectedly and Caroline overhears a conversation shortly afterwards that shows Cook's affection for her in a completely new light, events come thick and fast. Is there still a chance for the café - and for love?
